American Idol Top 11 finalists to take on Classic Motown hits on March 23rd

On Wednesday, March 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 11 finalists – Casey Abrams, Naima Adedapo, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Thia Megia, Haley Reinhart and Pia Toscano – return to the IDOL stage to sing classic Motown tunes.

Tune in the following night, Thursday, March 24 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), to the live results show to find out who receives enough votes to stay in the competition and who is sent home. Also, Season Three finalist and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson will return to the IDOL stage to perform, and multi-platinum country music duo Sugarland will also perform. (Fox Press Release)

Let the song speculation / discussion for Thia begin! We reiterate, this is just for fun. If we we're to pick a song, what would be perfect for her? We're pretty sure Thia's got a handful of people recommending tunes for her by now if she hasn't chosen one herself. The judges already called out on her and we believe Thia knows what she has to do, no need to tell her again. We know she'll deliver the 'goods' next Wednesday and she'll be back in her A game. We're choosing NOT to worry! Yay! :)

What is the Motown sound? It is a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence.

  1. hmm.... Ain't No Mountain High Enough is overused. Where Did Our Love Go might be right for her but is such a "safe" song. Not vocally challenging. Newer versions of Mercy Mercy Me or I'm Gonna Make You Love Me like this one :
